Holiday Open Houses

Head to your favorite library branch this December for Holiday Open Houses complete with crafts, music, take-home treats, special guests and more.

Celebrate the holiday season with the library! Each branch is hosting its own Holiday Open House. No matter what you celebrate, you’re invited to join us for festive fun.

Registration is not required, except to meet the penguins.

Cold Spring

Date: Saturday, Dec. 4
Time: 10 am-2 pm

Enjoy craft stations while local musician Ricky Nye plays holiday classics (from noon-1 pm) on his keyboard. Plus, guests will receive take-home treat bags!

Chill with penguins from the Newport Aquarium by registering for a slot between noon-1 pm.

Carrico/Fort Thomas

Date: Saturday, Dec. 4
Time: Noon-3 pm

Get festive with a day of live music by the Chris Comer Trio (from noon-1 pm), crafts and a take-home goody bag.

Guests may also register to meet an endangered African penguin from Newport Aquarium, who will will be making an appearance at 2 pm & 2:30 pm. While penguins are often associated with chilly Antarctica, these flightless birds enjoy warmer temperatures compared to their cold-weather counterparts.

Newport

Date: Saturday, Dec. 11
Time: Noon-3 pm

Indulge in a day of winter fun! Enjoy live music from the Chris Comer Trio from noon-1 pm. Stick around for a performance of Tchaikovsky’s classic The Nutcracker at 2 pm, as presented by Cincinnati Children’s Theatre. Crafts will be available throughout the day for all ages, including teens and adults.

Alexandria

Date: Saturday, Dec. 11
Time: 3-4 pm

Santa and Mrs. Claus will travel all the way from the North Pole to safely wish patrons happy holidays at our Alexandria Branch. Kids will be entertained with Reindeer Macarena and trivia. Patrons can also enjoy holiday tunes from local musician Jasmine Mckiddy, take-home treats and craft kits.
