Celebrate Creativity at Art After Hours 2025

Art After Hours returns this July to provide the perfect ending to Summer Reading!

You won’t want to miss this annual event featuring art from both new and returning local artists. As this is a special occasion, the artists will have their artwork available for purchase, too!

We’ll be hosting the event at our Carrico/Fort Thomas Branch from 7-9 pm on Friday, July 25. Art After Hours is a great opportunity to support the artists in our community. There will also be music provided by RICK NYE INC, charcuterie by Kate’s Catering and flower arrangements courtesy of Fort Thomas Florist & Greenhouses.

 

     

 

This year, we’ll be showcasing 16 different artists who are all bringing their unique take on art: Jackie Braden, Sharmon Davidson, Marcia Fanthorp, Dolores Fegan, Jide Fresh, Amy Hodory, Allison Inkso, Nicole Kessel, Steve Kosztala, Susan Mordigal, Sherry Perry, Chris Rust, JoAnn Scharf, Connie Springer, Billy Tackett and Jerry Warner.

“Art brings every type of community together, and it should be celebrated as such,” says Amy Carroll, programming and community engagement manager. “So many of the artists coming have expressed direct interest in making the world a better place with their art. We want to create a space where artists are able to express their passions surrounded by people who are genuinely interested.”

Art After Hours not only includes regional artists: it includes you! During Art After Hours, we’ll be hosting the Tiny Art Show. This will allow anyone and everyone in your family a chance to create art on a 3” x 3” canvas to display it at the event. Art After Hours attendees will vote for the Best Overall and Best for Summer Reading Theme (Creativity Happens at Our Library) in each age category. Winners receive a Michael’s gift card.

Prior to the Art After Hours event, the Carrico/Fort Thomas Branch will be providing programs for patrons of each age group to come in and create their art piece. Participants do not have to attend a program to submit their art to the Tiny Art Show: you can create a canvas at home and submit it for the Carrico/Fort Thomas Branch by July 23.

• Children’s Tiny Art Show: 4 pm Monday, July 14. No registration is required.
• Adult Tiny Art Show: 2 & 6:30 pm Wednesday, July 16. No registration is required.
• Teen Tiny Art Show: 4:30 pm Thursday, July 17. Registration is required.
