Giving Tuesday
In honor of Giving Tuesday this week, check out some of the ways you can give back to your library and community.
Giving Tuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. This year’s date is Tuesday, Dec. 3. Giving Tuesday is a generosity movement that was created as a philanthropic response to the consumerism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate and celebrate generosity.
Imagination Library
In September, the library and all the local school districts introduced Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to Campbell County. The program allows Campbell County residents to register their young ones to receive a free book in the mail each month until age 5.
The Dolly Parton Foundation provides costs for printing the books. The library and the school districts pay to have the books delivered. The cost of mailing books to one child is $25 a year. You may sponsor a child through the PayPal link below. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated by both the library and schools.
Wish Fund
We have set up a Wish Fund that will be used on an ongoing basis to buy small but desired items for the library, such as purchasing benches, children’s murals, etc. With this fund, we are establishing a committee to decide on ways to judiciously spend the money. Drop Your Drawers
We are collecting new packages of boys’ and girls’ underwear and socks, any size, to distribute to 14 local public elementary schools. You can drop off donations at any of our branches. This year’s goal is 7,000 pairs of socks and underwear. Help us break last year’s record of 10,765!

Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Campbell County Public Library raise funds for Summer Reading and other events and activities outside the scope of regular staff and program budgets.
