Book Bus Summer Parks Tour

The Book Bus is hitting the roads of Campbell County this June & July to bring summer fun to a park near you.

All events start at 10 am. No registration is required. In case of inclement weather, check out the library’s website or call any of our branches.

Families can bring their own blankets and chairs as seating. Climb aboard the Book Bus and pick out a free book to keep.

The Book Bus on Tour

June 5: Popsicles with Puppies & Duckies

Head to Bellevue Beach Park for the the kick-off event of the Book Bus Summer Parks Tour. Enjoy a frozen treat and meet pups and ducks. Dayton, Kentucky’s K-9 recruit, Cooper, will be there, along with Koda the Therapy Dog and rescue ducks from Longbottom Bird Ranch.


June 12: Art All Over!

Rock glittery and custom-made temporary tattoos! Families can also participate in a collective art project. Held at Silver Grove’s Chief Sayers Park. Look for the library on Ash Street.


June 19: Beach Bash

Head to the beach for some fun in the sun. Design your own beach tote and enjoy oceanic activities, like wading through “shark-infested” waters. The Book Bus will stop at Southgate Community Center (301 W. Walnut St.).


June 26: Dino Buddies

Meet amazing reptiles, enjoy fun games and do some crafts at the Alexandria Community Park (3965 Alexandria. Dr.).


July 3: Bubble Bonanza!

Come out to Bellevue Beach Park for a bubble party!


July 10: Good Green Earth Petting Zoo

Visit the cuddly animals of the Good Green Earth Farm at Chief Sayers Park in Silver Grove. Look for the library on Ash Street.


July 17: Gone Camping

Channel camp vibes at Southgate Community Center (301 W. Walnut St.)! Make camp crafts, build a fort with our many building toys, and enjoy various camp activities like archery.


July 24: Incredible Insects

Get up close and personal with the creatures that make up Earth’s largest group of animals at this exploration station all about insects. Learn the characteristics of insects, see the world through the eyes of a fly, and learn amazing insect facts with the Cincinnati Museum Center!
