We’re hosting our first-ever Winter Reading Challenge from Dec. 17 through Jan. 17. If you ask us, reading is the perfect way to stay warm when the weather outside is frightful. Meant for all ages, the whole family can get in on the fun.
Here’s how the challenge works: read books that fit various prompts on the Beanstack Tracker app/website and receive an entry for a prize each time one is completed.
Examples of possible prompts include reading a book with a blue cover; set in winter; about a winter holiday. If applicable, books may be used for multiple prompts. There are 30 prompts in total, so participants can receive up to 30 entries.
What is Beanstack?
Beanstack is a free app—downloadable on the Google Store and Apple’s App Store under Beanstack Tracker—and website that allows users to participate in library reading challenges. Participants may track their reading to earn prizes. To sign up, visit www.cc-pl.org/beanstack and register as an individual/family. Select “Find Your School or Library” and look for the Campbell County Public Library logo and name. CCPL has reading challenges throughout the year.
Three prizes will be given per age group (adult, teen and children):
- First place – $50 Target gift card and library swag
- Second place – $25 Target gift card and library swag
- Third place – $15 Target gift card and library swag
