Spend Summer Mornings at Local Parks

The library’s annual Tower Tuesdays and Jolly Thursdays return with a new addition, Watkins Wednesdays.
This trio of fun and free weekly programs runs through July at parks in Campbell County. From pop-up petting zoos to family concerts and theatrical performances, families can look forward to having fun outside all summer long.
Families are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets for seating. All events start at 10 am.
Find your favorite park below for date details. Registration is not required. In the case of inclement weather, check our website or call your local library branch.
Tower Tuesdays

June 7 – Honey Hill Farm Mobile Petting Zoo
Visit all kinds of fun farm animals from Honey Hill Farm.
June 14 – Police and Fire Appreciation
Celebrate Campbell County’s police and fire departments. Cincinnati Circus will make balloon animals for children. Don’t forget to grab a book from the library’s Book Bus.
June 21 – Family Concert with David Kisor
Grab a blanket or chair, kick back and enjoy a family-friendly concert featuring the award-winning educator and songwriter David Kisor.
June 28 – Shark Tank Science
Mr. Molecule’s Shark Tank is the perfect show to introduce even the youngest shark enthusiasts to the basic concepts of ichthyology.
July 12 – The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati Presents Jacqueline and the Beanstalk
The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati will take the stage to perform Jacqueline and the Beanstalk, a twist on the classic folk tale. Are you ready to follow Jackie up the beanstalk?
July 19 – Cincinnati Circus Juggling Show
Want to be razzled and dazzled? See a spectacular juggling show provided by the Cincinnati Circus.
July 26 – Kentucky Reptile Zoo
See, and maybe even touch, the sometimes slippery, sometimes slithery animals from the Kentucky Reptile Zoo.
Program sponsors include the Campbell County Public Library, City of Fort Thomas Parks & Recreation Department and Campbell County Cooperative Extension Service.
Watkins Wednesdays

Stick around after the events for a free lunch from Newport Schools! They will provide lunch from 11 am-noon. Plus, the library will provide activities and crafts to enjoy.
June 8 – Good Green Earth Farm Traveling Petting Farm
Visit animals from Good Green Earth Farm.
June 15 – Play, Explore, Build!
Play, Explore and Build at the park! We provide all the necessary building materials; all you need to bring is your imagination and creativity. Children can also enjoy balloon animals from Cincinnati Circus artists and receive a free book from the library’s Book Bus.
June 22 – Cincinnati Museum Center Presents Coral Exploration Station
Learn what coral is, where it lives, what it eats and how it protects itself by exploring real coral skeletons, role-playing a coral polyp and viewing pictures of sea creatures home to coral reefs.
June 29 – Kentucky Reptile Zoo
The Kentucky Reptile Zoo will teach us about sometimes slippery, sometimes slithery animals. You may even be able to touch a few!
July 13 – Family Concert with David Kisor
The whole family can unwind at a concert featuring the award-winning educator and songwriter David Kisor.
July 20 – Giant Yard Game Day
There will be a Gaga Pit, Giant Jenga, Giant Checkers, Giant Connect Four and more. Children will also be entertained by a balloon artist from Cincinnati Circus.
July 27 – Honey Hill Farm Mobile Petting Zoo
Hang out with cool farm animals from Honey Hill Farm.

Enjoy fun, interactive music from award-winning songwriter and educator David Kisor. His music aims to enhance the social and emotional development of young children, all while entertaining the whole family.
June 23 – The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati presents Jaqueline and the Beanstalk
Once upon a time, Jacqueline had a brother named Jack. The entire village thought Jack was so smart, strong and witty, but when the family ran out of money it was Jacqueline who used her brain to get them out of trouble. Follow Jackie up the beanstalk with the Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati.

July 14 – Madcap Puppets presents Fantastic Fairy Tales
Don’t miss this chance to see Madcap Puppets live on stage as they present Fantastic Fairy Tales. Flump, the royal court jester to the king, has accidentally overheard a plot by the Wizard Glistor to turn the king into a mouse. To keep Glistor from knowing his plans, Flump entertains the crowd with stories until he can discover a way to stop Glistor’s sinister scheme.
July 21 – Kentucky Shakespeare presents Much Ado About Nothing
The quick-witted Beatrice and Benedick – secretly in love – are engaged in a war of words while Hero and Claudio – not so secretly in love – plan to marry. Will false rumors and mistaken identity keep them apart? Much Ado explores relationships, the consequences of gossip and self-worth.
July 28 – Oceans of Funny
Tricky Max presents a lively and highly visual, educational magic show designed for kids who want to learn about the ocean’s creatures – from the wiggly weird to the cute and touchable.
