Early Literacy Play Date

Early Literacy Play Date is back on Saturday, May 17 at the Newport Branch from 11 am to 2 pm with fun, informative activities all afternoon! The program aims to connect caregivers of preschoolers to community partners and resources for early learning.

Event Details

When: 11 am-2 pm Saturday, May 17

Where: Newport Branch (901 East Sixth Street)

Along with open space to play, families of young children can also receive information on local resources and services that can help set their child up for success. Community partners include: KTL Therapy, North Key/First Steps, Headstart, NKY Education Council: One-to-One Program, EC Learn, 1in5 Mental Health Awareness and NKY Drug Free Alliance.

Enjoy Big Blue Blocks and Play-Doh letters. You can also make your own flash cards and board the Book Bus to pick out a free read to keep. Plus, do an Ages and Stages screening.

To kick the afternoon off, The Children’s Theater will perform a twist on the classic fairytale Jacqueline and the Beanstalk. At noon, story times will rotate every half hour.

We can’t wait to see you for an afternoon of fun, learning and strengthening early literacy!
