Early Literacy Play Date

Mark your calendars for the Newport Branch’s Early Literacy Play Date.
Literacy and play go hand in hand. This program brings them together to help prepare children as they learn to read. At this event, we will provide families of young children with space to play and learn.

Date: 11 am – 2 pm Saturday, May 6
Location:ย Newport Branch (901 East 6th St., Newport KY 41071)
Young ones can enjoy stations with toys, activities and games that encourage pre-literacy skills. While young ones play, caregivers can visit community vendors to learn about resources and services that can help set children up for success.
Other activities include meeting a magical princess, who will hand out balloon animals, from the Cincinnati Circus.
Visit the Book Bus!
The Book Bus will be on-site for the Early Literacy Play Date. Take a break from playing and climb aboard to pick out a free book to take home and keep. The Book Bus will be parked at the Newport Branch for the duration of the event, from 11 am – 2 pm.
