Book Bus Fall Tour

Take a break from leaf-peeping this fall and hop aboard the Book Bus.
The library’s Outreach Department is hitting the roads of Campbell County this September and October for their first-ever Book Bus Fall Tour.
Enjoy fall-themed crafts, activities, bookmarks and giveaways. Don’t forget to pick out a free book to keep from the Book Bus. While the bus primarily stocks books for children, there is a selection available for adults and teens as well.
Book Bus Fall Tour Dates! 🎃
Mark your calendars for this season’s tour! Dates are listed below. No registration is required, unless noted.
Saturday, Sept. 23: Play, Explore, Build at Friendship Park
From 10 am – noon, the Book Bus will be parked at Friendship Park for Play, Explore, Build. We supply the building materials, you bring the imagination and creativity. This family-friendly STEAM program puts an emphasis on engineering.
Wednesday, Sept. 27: Campbell County Senior Picnic at Pendery Park
The Book Bus will roll by the annual senior citizen’s picnic at Melbourne’s Pendery Park from 11 am – 3 pm. Enjoy live music, BINGO, chair volleyball, corn hole, door prizes and a chicken dinner.
Sunday, Oct. 1: Touch a Truck at Tower Park
Head to Fort Thomas’ Tower Park near the Mess Hall for Touch a Truck and Flea in the Fort. There will be shopping and vehicles to check out from 10 am – 3 pm.
Saturday, Oct. 7: Cold Spring Fall Festival at Cold Spring Community Center
Take in autumnal vibes at the Cold Spring Fall Festival, which the Book Bus will stop at from 2 – 5 pm. Registration is required. Contact the City of Cold Spring at 859-441-9604 for free tickets.
Saturday, Oct. 21: Curbside Trick or Treat at a Mystery Location
The Book Bus couldn’t miss out on all the Curbside Trick or Treat fun. While the Newport, Fort Thomas and Cold Spring branches are having their events, the Book Bus will be parked at a mystery location for you to stop by and pick out a free book.
The mystery location will be announced on our social media the day of the event. Stay tuned!
