Presidential Election Day 2024 Resources
The 2024 Presidential Election Day is right around the corner on Nov. 5. Here are all the important dates to know so you don’t miss your chance to cast a vote!
Important Dates
No matter how you’re casting your ballot, here are the dates to keep in mind.
- Oct. 7: Last day to register to vote
- Sept. 21-Oct. 22: Mail-in absentee portal opening & closing date (govote.ky.gov)
- Oct. 23-30: Six-day in-office excused absentee voting; no weekend voting
- Oct. 31, Nov. 1-2: Three-day no-excuse early voting
- Nov. 5: Election Day
Need to know your voting location? Visit campbell.countyclerk.us or call 859.292.3885. If you’re voting in person, here’s what to expect: Have your ID ready; driver’s licenses are the most efficient method to scan. Election officials will then verify your identity and issue a paper ballot. (ADA ballot option available.) Afterward, mark your ballot to cast your vote!
Early In-Person Voting
Voting early? You can do so between Oct. 31-Nov. 2 from 9 am-5 pm at the following locations in Campbell County:
- Campbell County Administration Building (1098 Monmouth St., Newport, KY 41071)
- First Baptist Church (4410 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076)
- Southern Campbell Fire Department (1050 Race Track Rd., Alexandria, KY 41001)
In-Person Absentee Voting
If you’re voting via absentee ballot, you can do so between Oct. 23-30 (except on Saturday & Sunday) from 8:30 am-4 pm at the Campbell County Administration Building (1098 Monmouth St., Newport, KY 41071).
To vote with an absentee ballot, you must meet the following requirements, per the Campbell County Clerk Office:
- Student who resides temporarily outside of their county
- Voter or voter’s spouse who has surgery/hospitalization scheduled during early voting & Election Day
- Voter who is a resident of KY covered by KRS 117A.010
- Uniformed service member who finds out they will be confined to a military base during early voting & Election Day & is not eligible for a mail-in ballot
- In last trimester of pregnancy
- Voter who temporarily resides outside the state but is still eligible to vote in KY
- Person who due to age, disability or illness will be unable to attend early voting or Election Day vote centers
- Voters who will be out of the county during early voting or Election Day
Mail-In Absentee Ballot
Eligible voters may request a mail-in absentee ballot (available Sept. 21-Oct. 22) by visiting govote.ky.gov. You can also find eligibility requirements by visiting the website or calling 859.292.3885.
