CANCELED-Homeschool Hive: Cave Exploration!
Friday, May 6, 2022
11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Join Dr. Rachel Bosch to learn more about cave exploration! Where do we find caves, why are they important, and how can we protect them? What might we find in caves and how do we study those rocks, water, and animals? Learn the answers to these questions, ask some new questions of your own, and even try your hand at building and exploring a cave, right here in the library!
About guest presenter Dr. Rachel Bosch:
My broad area of interest is geomorphology, or the science behind nature’s scenery. My interests are wide ranging: from addressing basic research questions about the evolution of caves and karst landscapes to developing ways to leverage technology to build more inclusive educational structures, to working toward environmental justice. I earned my BA in physics from Wesleyan University, my MS in geosciences from Penn State, and my PhD in geology at the University of Cincinnati. You can learn more about me and my scientific interests on my website or in this Science Around Cincy video.
We encourage adults to remain in the library but to allow their tween/teen to attend the program alone—only if both are comfortable. If an adult must be present, they must sit with the tween/teen.
Please note any accommodation requests in the Special Needs section of the registration form.
