Fall into Literature: Panel Discussion on Horror Aesthetics
Tuesday, November 18, 2025
6:00 pm
Join us at the Cold Spring branch as we discuss the classics! This month, discuss costuming, makeup, and special effects with local artists.
Inspired by previous years’ Shaking Up Shakespeare and Autumn with Austen series, Fall into Literature is an annual short program series taking place at the Cold Spring branch, where we will “shake up” the ways in which you view pieces of classic literature. This year, join us as we delve into the horrors of Bram Stoker’s classic vampire novel, Dracula! Stoker’s work has been the inspiration for countless versions of The Count, and elements can be seen in all types of media. Join us each month as we explore Stoker’s influence on vampirical lore through lectures on the novel itself, horror attraction design, and cinematic vampirism!
This month, join us for a panel discussion on horror aesthetics! Panelists will share their experiences in designing characters for horror attractions and bringing them to life with makeup and costuming.
Future Events:
The series closes on Tuesday, December 9th with a virtual lecture from Steven Frenzel on cinematic vampires! Registration will open on Sunday, November 9th. View the event description here.
