St. Elizabeth Free Carotid Artery Screenings: Qualified Men & Women – 9 a.m.- 2p.m. – Appointments required

The Heart and Vascular Institute of St. Elizabeth Healthcare will offer free stroke and carotid screenings for *qualified men and women age 40 or older at the  Fort Thomas Branch on April 25th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Carotid Artery Screening checks the arteries in the neck where plaque buildup can lead to blockages, which are the #1 cause of stroke. *To qualify for the free screening you must be: Age 40 or older With two or more risk factors: Smoker or former smoker – Hypertension/High Blood Pressure – Elevated Cholesterol – Elevated Triglycerides – Diabetic – Obesity/Overweight – History of Stroke or TIA (mini stroke) – Family History of Stroke or TIA – Family history of Cardiovascular disease.   Registration is required via St. Elizabeth Scheduling.
