Image result for turtles all the way downSixteen-year-old Aza Holmes suffers from anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder. She has a wound on her finger that she is compelled to reopen and clean, reopen and clean. Much of the book takes place in her mind, which is consumed by thoughts of bacteria, microbes and what-if spirals. But Aza also has a great best friend who is trying to understand. And together they have a crime to solve.

Aza is trying. She is trying to be a good daughter, a good friend, a good student, and maybe even a good detective, while also living within the ever-tightening spiral of her own thoughts.

A sometimes heartbreaking, always illuminating, glimpse into how it feels to live with mental illness.
