Summer Reading Challenge

A little competition can make your story even more interesting! From June 1 to July 26, we challenge you to log six activities every week to win themed weekly prizes; one winner will be chosen per age group (adults, teens and children). What do you have to do? Simply read a book, attend a program or use library resources/materials. Though you can only log one activity per day, you may log each activity multiple times throughout the same week.

 Weekly Themes

  • Week 1 (June 1-7): Candy
  • Week 2 (June 8-14): Summer
  • Week 3 (June 15-21): Bookworm
  • Week 4 (June 22-28): Animal Lovers
  • Week 5 (June 29-July 5): Board Games
  • Week 6 (July 6-12): Build it
  • Week 7 July 13-19): Art
  • Week 8 (July 20-26): Local Favorites

You can pick up and submit your weekly log at any branch or online through Beanstack

Checkout Challenge

The library has the perfect side quest to add to your summer story! For each item you check out this summer, you get an entry into the midsummer and final prize drawing. All branches host their own Checkout Challenge! On July 1, branches will draw a winner for a $25 Kroger gift card, and on July 26, branches will draw a winner for a $50 Kroger gift card. All ages are eligible to participate.

Look for Us at Local Parks

Does your story include outdoor fun and free books? If so, we have the best news! Throughout June and July, the Book Bus and library staff will travel across Campbell County, visit different parks and host fun hangouts.

Tower Tuesdays & Jolly Thursdays

In June, the Book Bus will host Tower Tuesdays and Jolly Thursdays filled with music, animals, crafts and more!
