It is the Summer of Stories at Campbell County Public Library, and we have a great summer lined up for you. From activity challenges to prizes to fun programs and more, your summer story will definitely be one to remember!
The first chapter of your story should be as unique as you are! From June 1 to June 4, all four branches welcome you to begin the summer with the fun programs they have lined up.
Monday, June 1 | Cold Spring Branch
10 am-noon: Painting and Popsicles, for families
2–5 pm: Making Stamp Art—With Jordan Denae Jung, for adults & teens (registration required)
Tuesday, June 2 | Carrico/Fort Thomas Branch
2-4 pm: Masterpiece Makers, for grades K-5
6–8 pm: Beat the Heat, for adults & teens
Wednesday, June 3 | Newport Branch
1–3 pm: Family Crafternoon, for grades K-5
3-5 pm: Summer Craft Tables, for adults & teens
Thursday, June 4 | Alexandria Branch

A little competition can make your story even more interesting! From June 1 to July 26, we challenge you to log six activities every week to win themed weekly prizes; one winner will be chosen per age group (adults, teens and children). What do you have to do? Simply read a book, attend a program or use library resources/materials. Though you can only log one activity per day, you may log each activity multiple times throughout the same week.
Weekly Themes
You can pick up and submit your weekly log at any branch or online through Beanstack.
The library has the perfect side quest to add to your summer story! For each item you check out this summer, you get an entry into the midsummer and final prize drawing. All branches host their own Checkout Challenge! On July 1, branches will draw a winner for a $25 Kroger gift card, and on July 26, branches will draw a winner for a $50 Kroger gift card. All ages are eligible to participate.
Does your story include outdoor fun and free books? If so, we have the best news! Throughout June and July, the Book Bus and library staff will travel across Campbell County, visit different parks and host fun hangouts.
In June, the Book Bus will host Tower Tuesdays and Jolly Thursdays filled with music, animals, crafts and more!
Tower Tuesdays
Tower Park’s Amphitheater, Fort Thomas at 10 am
Jolly Thursdays
A.J. Jolly Park’s Stapleton Pavilion, Alexandria at 10 am
The Book Bus is on tour Wednesdays in July. We wanted to make sure your story had the chance to dabble in multiple genres, so note the themes of the events and come dressed to match if you want!
Book Bus on Tour
We will not leave your story on a cliffhanger; instead, we will leave it with a bang! Join us for our Summer Reading finales for each age group.
Friday, July 24 | Carrico/Fort Thomas Branch
7-9 pm: Art After Hours, Adult Summer Reading Finale
Saturday, July 25 | Cold Spring Branch
10 am-1 pm: Miniature Golf, Children's Summer Reading Finale

Though the Summer Reading Finales mark the final chapter of this summer’s story, there is always room for a sequel next year!
Thank you to the Friends of the Campbell County Public Library for making CCPL’s Summer Reading possible.
