Create a mock postage stamp that can be tailored to any subject and explore postage stamps to discover their history and essential elements.
Jordan Denae Jung will guide students in creating a mock postage stamp that can be tailored to any subject (e.g., Kentucky landscapes, historical figures or scientific discoveries). They will explore postage stamps to discover their history and essential elements. Using drawing tools or digital design software, students will create a stamp that can be printed as a sticker.
Jung, a graphic designer and teaching artist, is based in Knox County. She specializes in creative workshops that connect visual arts, design and storytelling to classroom content. With a BFA in Graphic Design and a background in digital media, she brings real-world design experience into engaging, hands-on projects for students. She is a teaching artist with the Kentucky Arts Council and Partners for Rural Impact and was a fellow in the second Appalachian Teaching Artist Fellowship.

This program was made possible through generous support from the Kentucky Arts Council. The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, provides operating support to Campbell County Public Library and Jordan Jung with state tax dollars and federal funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
