The Kentucky Virtual Library (KYVL) is a consortium of over 300 Kentucky libraries and institutions, including colleges and universities, public libraries, K12 schools, hospitals, the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives (KDLA), and more. As a member of KYVL our patrons have access to over 60 research and educational databases.     BSCOhost – Academic Search Complete is a scholarly, full-text database designed for academic institutions. 

    The database contains indexing for 8,176 publications, with full-text for nearly 4,700 of those titles. PDF backfiles to 1975 or further are available for well over one hundred journals, and searchable cited references are provided for more than 1,000 titles.

    Business Source Premier offers both indexing and abstracts for 350 scholarly business journals, dating back to the first published issue in 1965. This database covers full-text journals in all disciplines of business. This includes marketing, management, MIS, POM, accounting, finance, econometrics and economics. 

  • Campbell County Historical and Genealogical Society

    A center for historical information specifically about Campbell County, Kentucky. The volunteer-run society has published 25 books, which are available for purchase. 

    The office in the Alexandria Courthouse contains a library with microfilm and microfiche, books, magazines, an 1883 atlas of Campbell, Boone and Kenton Counties, veteran’s information and a museum room with artifacts.

    Visiting hours are as follows:

  • Cincinnati Enquirer & USA Today

    The Cincinnati Enquirer is a daily newspaper published in Cincinnati, Ohio. USA Today is an American daily newspaper and news broadcast company.

    Campbell County Public Library patrons can request access to digital versions of The Cincinnati Enquirer and USA Today with their library accounts.

  • Cincinnati Historical Society Library

    Located in the Cincinnati Museum Center, this library is a collection of historical information about Cincinnati and the region. Since 1831, they have been collecting and preserving materials relating to the Greater Cincinnati area, the state of Ohio and the Old Northwest Territory.

    The library is free and open to the public from noon-4 pm on Thursdays and Fridays by appointment only. 

    Today, it houses one of the most significant regional history collections in the United States with thousands of books, pamphlets, maps, manuscripts, photographs and films.

  • DigitalLearn.org

    DigitalLearn.org is an Institute of Museum and Library Services grant-funded project to create an online hub for digital literacy support and training. The site launched in June 2013 and is intended to build upon and foster the work of libraries and community organizations as they work to increase digital literacy across the nation.

    Topics include lessons in how to be safe online, job skills, how to use computers and mobile devices and more. 

    Included in DigitalLearn.org is a collection of self-directed tutorials to increase digital literacy, and a community for sharing resources, tools and best practices.

    This authoritative database provides full text, cover-to-cover indexing for journals indexed in MEDLINE. These top journals cover a wide range of subjects within the biomedical and health fields containing information needed by doctors, nurses, health professionals and researchers engaged in clinical care, public health and health policy development. After accessing the resource through the library, you can create a free EBSCO account to save documents, create search alerts and use other features.

    Middle Search Plus contains primary source documents including Essential Documents in American History, reference books such as the Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia, the Encyclopedia of Animals, and more than 1.2 million relevant photos, maps and flags.

    Preservation Kentucky is the Commonwealth’s statewide nonprofit historic preservation organization. They are a membership-based organization devoted to preserving buildings, structures and sites in every region and town in the state.

    Preservation Kentucky is committed to preserving vestiges of all Kentuckians’ past – from shotgun houses in Louisville to African-American rural communities across the state to roadside architecture, such as the Parkette Drive-In in Lexington, to important prehistoric archaeological sites.

    • Campbell County Historical and Genealogical Society

      A center for historical information specifically about Campbell County, Kentucky. The volunteer-run society has published 25 books, which are available for purchase. 

      The office in the Alexandria Courthouse contains a library with microfilm and microfiche, books, magazines, an 1883 atlas of Campbell, Boone and Kenton Counties, veteran’s information and a museum room with artifacts.

      Visiting hours are as follows:

      Tuesdays: 10 am – 5 pm
      Thursdays: 10 am – 2 pm

    • Cincinnati Historical Society Library

      Located in the Cincinnati Museum Center, this library is a collection of historical information about Cincinnati and the region. Since 1831, they have been collecting and preserving materials relating to the Greater Cincinnati area, the state of Ohio and the Old Northwest Territory.

      The library is free and open to the public from noon-4 pm on Thursdays and Fridays by appointment only. 

      Today, it houses one of the most significant regional history collections in the United States with thousands of books, pamphlets, maps, manuscripts, photographs and films.
