St. Elizabeth Free Carotid Artery Screenings: Qualified Men; Women – Appointments required

The Heart and Vascular Institute of St. Elizabeth Healthcare will offer free stroke and carotid screenings for *qualified men and women age 40 or older at the Fort Thomas Branch on Nov 2nd.  Carotid Artery Screening checks the arteries in the neck where plaque buildup can lead to blockages, which are the #1 cause of stroke. *To qualify for the free screening you must be: Age 40 or older With two or more risk factors: Smoker or former smoker – Hypertension/High Blood Pressure – Elevated Cholesterol – Elevated Triglycerides – Diabetic – Obesity/Overweight – History of Stroke or TIA (mini stroke) – Family History of Stroke or TIA – Family history of Cardiovascular disease.   Registration is required via St. Elizabeth Scheduling.
