El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Children’s Day/Book Day)
Saturday, April 24, 2021
10:00 am - 1:00 pm
El Día de los Niños/El Día de los Libros (Children’s Day/Book Day) is a celebration of children, families, and reading that culminates yearly at the end of April, emphasizing the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
In order to keep our patrons safe, this year, our El Día celebración will take place in the parking lot of the Cold Spring Branch. This will be a drive-thru event, where patrons will drive through three stations. One station will have a book and recyclable bag, another will have a craft, and the final station will feature a performance from Bi-Okoto.
Please note: Bi-Okoto will perform from 11 am to noon if you would like to experience their performance.
If you do not drive, you are welcome to walk the event, just be mindful of parking lot safety and facial coverings.
We will be highlighting the cultures of Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) with our books, craft, and performance selections. Each child will receive a treat bag with responsibly sourced items. The selection of books you may receive include:
