Get Wild for Summer Reading with this Guide

Summer Reading is underway!

From June 5 until July 31, you have a chance to win prizes by reading books and listening to audiobooks. Children can also win prizes by being read to by others.

Here’s a guide to making the most of your summer reading experience:

Sign Up for a Library Card

Still need a library card? We’ve got you covered! Getting a library card at any of our library branches is simple: all you need is a valid photo ID and proof of current residency. If you only want a card that grants you access to online resources and the library’s ebook and audiobook collection, you can sign up online for a digital patron card.

Browse the Summer Reading Brochure

Grab a brochure when you’re visiting any of our library branches. The brochure features all of the programs happening throughout the summer, and also includes all of the rules for winning Summer Reading prizes. Don’t forget to ask for a brochure if you’re stopping by for a curbside pickup!

Download the CCPL App

The library’s app is free to download and grants you access to the library catalog on the go. You can quickly and easily place holds through the app to make sure you have plenty of great books to read throughout the summer. Search for “Campbell County Library” in your app store to download.

Download the Libby App

If you prefer reading ebooks, Libby is the perfect app for you. Libby can be downloaded for free on any mobile device for on-the-go reading. It’s also a great way to listen to audiobooks while you’re enjoying the warm summer weather.

Register for a Program

There is something for everyone during Summer Reading this year — from book clubs, crafts, movies, trivia, games and so much more. All of our programs are free and open to the public. Whether you join an in-person or virtual program, make sure you register to secure your spot.

Join a Book Club

Each of our library branches hosts a variety of different book clubs each month. Book clubs are the perfect way to connect with fellow readers while enjoying some fascinating books. You can find book clubs for all ages and interests.

Find Book Recommendations

Need help finding the perfect books to read this summer? Look no further than Novelist. You can use your library card information to access Novelist, which searches a database for book recommendations based on your author and book likes. Our librarians have also created book lists for you to browse for recommendations. You are always welcome to speak to any library staff member about some suggestions. They will be happy to locate a book for you to check out or place on hold.
