Mommy & Baby Yoga

Sheila Munoz of Fort Thomas was loving life as a new mom. But still …

“You kind of stay home and get in a routine,” she recalled.  “It was important to do something for myself, to get out of the house and share time with my son as well.”

Ms. Munoz found her answer when she went to get a library card: Mommy & Baby Yoga.

Her son Ryder was 4 months old then.  He’ll be 2 years old in May.

Shelia Munoz and son Ryder, second from left, enjoy Mommy & Baby Yoga.

“He cooperates – most of the time,” Ms. Munoz said. “He does like to be on me while we’re doing yoga, so I hold him most of the time, and then he runs around.”

Mommy & Baby Yoga helps new moms like Ms. Munoz heal from the intensity of child birth and restore strength.  Moms and little ones bond through playful interaction. Registered yoga instructor Phoenix Wilson teaches the class.

“She’s wonderful,” Ms. Munoz said. “She’s very patient with the kids, and is friendly and accommodating every time.”
