Description

Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers have an energetic mix of quality Bluegrass and Gospel music. Each performance brings inventive instrumental work and a wide variety of vocal arrangements, including a cappella quartets and tasteful, down-home humor. Mullins has earned 5 IBMA Awards and 3 SPBGMA Awards. In July, 2013, the group debuted on stage at the historic Grand Ole Opry and has enjoyed regular guest appearances since that time. Named IBMA Emerging Artists of the Year in 2012, Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers have been seen by fans at nearly every national bluegrass event across the country. Their heavily played recordings continue to keep them in demand with a national audience. No matter the source, Joe Mullins and the Radio Ramblers always put their distinctive stamp on a song, making it at once their own and a part of the chain of tradition that lies at the heart of bluegrass. ”A second-generation ‘grasser, Mullins grew up around music at its very best, and the Radio Ramblers’ take on tradition is more informed – and therefore richer and more nuanced – than that of many who wave the banner.” Jon Weisberger, Nashville Scene ”These guys are among the elite in the business keeping the fires lit for the original bluegrass sound.” Craig Havinghurst, Music City Roots ”Whether it’s a live performance at the Grand Ole Opry or one of the band’s singles or albums being featured in a Top Ten countdown show, the Radio Ramblers have hit on just the right combination of bluegrass, traditional country and gospel music to propel them into the top tier of today’s touring bands.” Tom Adams, Banjo Newsletter

A CD sale and signing will follow the concert. The event is free and open to the public; however, free tickets must be requested in advance. Please phone 859.781.6166, ext. 31 to request your tickets; or, click the link at the top of this description to request tickets online.
