About Outreach Services
The Campbell County Public Library Outreach Department offers a variety of services to give Campbell County residents access to the Library's resources. Our Home Delivery Service will bring books to your home if you reside within Campbell County and are unable to come to the library due to permanent or temporary illness or disability.

Deposit Collections are delivered on a rotating schedule to nursing homes and adult day care facilities in Campbell County. A large variety of Bifolkal Kits are available through the Kentucky Department of Libraries and Archives for nursing homes and retirement groups for programming with older adults.

We also register eligible patrons for the Talking Books Program through the Northern Kentucky Talking Book Library. In addition, the Outreach Department coordinates the Book Buddy Program, which provides volunteer opportunities for those willing to give 4 hours a month helping others gain access to library materials.

Bifolkal Kits
Bifolkal kits are multimedia collections designed to give older adults an opportunity to remember times past and to share their memories and experiences with others. The kits are filled with slides, cassette tapes, skits, and much more. Bifolkal kits can be used by activity directors for programming in groups or by individuals in visits with family and friends. These kits are great for nursing homes, retirement centers, and adult daycare programs. These kits are available courtesy of the Kentucky Department of Libraries and Archives, and are free. They can be reserved ahead of time to help you with your programming needs. If you would like a Bifolkal Kit list mailed to you or have any questions about this free service, please call the Outreach Services Coordinator at 781-6166, extension 29.

Book Buddies
Book Buddies is our service for permanently homebound adults, in which library volunteers take books directly to those who are unable to visit the library buildings. A volunteer receives a special "Book Buddy" library card which the volunteer uses to check out items from the collection for the Outreach patron. This is an excellent volunteer opportunity for those who like to read, enjoy people, have reliable transportation, and are willing to volunteer at least 3-4 hours a month with their patron. Volunteers will receive training, and will also need to complete a police record check.

Deposit Collections
Deposit collections are books loaned to nursing homes, senior centers, and other community agencies throughout Campbell County. Collections of 20-30 items are specially selected for each site. Deposit collections contain an assortment of large print and regular print books, magazines, audio books, CDs, videos, and DVDs. These collections are delivered on a rotating schedule every four weeks, depending on the facility's needs.

If you are interested in starting a deposit collection or have any questions about this service, please call the Outreach Services Coordinator at 781-6166, extension 29.

Never lend books. for no one ever returns them; the only books I have in my library
are books that other folks have lent me.
