About Library Card Sign-Up Month
Library Card Sign-Up Month first launched in 1987 as a response to then Secretary of Education William Bennett, who stated, "Every child should obtain a library card and use it." The American Library Association took Bennett's challenge and ran with it.

The First Library Card Sign-Up Month theme was, "The Best Gift You'll Every Give Your Child … A Library Card." The American Library Association's theme for 2025's Library Card Sign-Up Month is "One Card, Endless Possibilities." Campbell County Public Library strives to provide patrons of all ages with free access to a myriad of resources, services, books and more!
